Animals & Other Critters

Currently on our homestead we have 2 dogs, 3 cats, 5 ducks, 24 chickens, 21 sheep and countless worms. We did have beehives, but have given those over to the neighbour to care for. The numbers of critters fluctuate with the seasons - lambs are born every year, grow up, and are butchered. The chickens and ducks raise young, which we sell, keep or eat. Every critter on our homestead has a purpose - the dogs are companions and guards, the cats keep the rodent population down, the ducks and chickens provide eggs, manure and meat, the sheep provide meat, wool and manure, as well as keeping the grass and weeds down, and the worms process waste and in turn feed the gardens and the chickens.

I will share info about our critters via my Critter Blog HERE
